Rules of the frontier.
These rules apply across the Red Horizon Discord and RedM game server. Read them fully before accepting.
Community & Eligibility
- You must be 18 or older.
Red Horizon is an adult roleplay community. Anyone found to be under 18 will be removed.
- Treat other members with respect.
Harassment, bullying, discrimination, hate speech, threats, targeted abuse and unwanted sexual behaviour are not permitted.
- Protect people's privacy.
Do not dox, expose, threaten to expose or share another person's private information without permission.
- Staff instructions must be followed.
If you disagree with a moderation decision, use the appropriate ticket or appeal route rather than disrupting public channels or active roleplay.
Discord Server Rules
- Use channels for their intended purpose.
Keep conversations relevant, avoid excessive spam and do not deliberately disrupt voice or text channels.
- No unsolicited advertising or recruitment.
Do not advertise other communities, products or services, and do not mass-DM Red Horizon members.
- Keep prohibited or explicit material off the server.
No illegal content, graphic shock material, pornography or other inappropriate NSFW content.
- Do not use Discord to bypass game rules.
Information learned out of character must not be used to gain an in-game advantage. Do not coordinate metagaming, stream-sniping, exploits or rule breaks.
- Use support channels for reports and disputes.
Player reports, sensitive evidence and staff disputes should be handled privately through the proper support process.
Game Server Rules
- Roleplay comes first.
Remain in character during active scenes and make believable decisions appropriate to your character and the 1901 setting.
- No random or vehicle deathmatching.
Do not attack, kill or use horses, wagons, trains or other vehicles against players without a valid roleplay reason and appropriate scene development.
- Value life and consequences.
Your character should respond realistically to serious danger, injury, weapons and overwhelming threats. Do not treat death or injury as meaningless.
- No metagaming.
Do not use information your character could not reasonably know, including streams, Discord messages or information from another character.
- No powergaming or forced outcomes.
Do not use mechanics or roleplay actions to force another player into an unreasonable outcome without giving them a fair opportunity to respond.
- No combat logging.
Do not disconnect, respawn or otherwise leave an active scene to avoid roleplay, arrest, injury, loss or consequences.
- No cheating, exploiting or unauthorised automation.
Cheats, injected menus, exploit abuse, macros that create unfair advantages and other unauthorised third-party tools are prohibited. Report bugs instead of abusing them.
- Keep conflict roleplay-driven.
Hostility should have a reasonable in-character basis. Do not repeatedly target players, grief them or use mechanics primarily to ruin somebody else's experience.
- Use sensible characters and names.
Characters should suit the server's setting and tone. Joke names, deliberately disruptive characters and characters built only to provoke others may be rejected.
- Do not evade enforcement.
Using alternate accounts, characters or technical workarounds to bypass a warning, ban, restriction or staff decision is prohibited.

The Join Server button opens a secure Red Horizon hand-off page, which automatically launches the Discord desktop app. Discord must be installed on your computer.
